THE CITY OF TUMWATER, WA

Less than 3 miles south of Olympia lies the City of Tumwater. Located along the Deschutes River, this lovely little city is filled to the brim with natural beauty and a rich history steeped in brewing and agriculture. Tumwater has attractions for people of all ages, including the Old Brewhouse and Olympic Flight Museum, Similar to other cities in Thurston County, Tumwater also has numerous trails and parks, including the beautiful Tumwater Falls Park and Pioneer Park. Tumwater’s natural beauty, while splendid, also provides plenty of conducive conditions for a number of different pests.

Many of Tumwater’s homes and businesses are built within or near its abundant greenbelts and wetlands, presenting numerous challenges for Pest Control professionals. Rats, mice, and other rodents tend to thrive in areas like Tumwater due to the high amount of food, water, and shelter provided by the surrounding natural areas. With homes and businesses being so close, encounters with these pests can be quite common.

Ants are also quite common in greenbelt heavy areas such as Tumwater. The two most common species of ant we tend to see in Western Washington are Odorous House Ants (or Sugar Ants) and Carpenter Ants. Odorous House Ants easily recognized by their tiny black bodies and the terrible odor they emit. These primarily a nuisance pest, being attracted to exposed food items and liquids. Carpenter Ants, on the other hand, are classified as wood-destroying insects and, similar to termites, can cause major structural damage to a home or building if left unchecked.

Stinging Insects are also a common concern for Tumwater residents during the warmer months. Whiles Honey Bees and Mason Bees are mostly harmless unless provoked, other stinging insects such as hornets, wasps, and yellow jackets, however, can be extremely aggressive and pose a threat to the safety of your family and pets. It is quite common to see Hornets and Wasps build small nests built under the eaves of roofs or porch ceilings (some will even make their nests in attics if they are able to get inside your home). Yellow Jacket nests, on the other hand are usually underground or on low hanging tree branches.

ANT CONTROL

Treating an ant infestation is a fairly complicated process. Our ant treatment involves a significant amount of detective work, specialized interior baiting, and liquid chemical treatments, as well as an exterior chemical application to the home or building and various areas on the property.

RODENT CONTROL

Managing and establishing effective prevention methods for rodent infestations can be extremely time consuming. It requires a thorough inspection, repair of any rodent entry points, mechanical trap installation, and bait station placement. Our process sets us apart from many of the other pest companies, as we do exclusion as part of the solution.

SPIDER CONTROL

There are various species of spiders found throughout Washington and the Puget Sound region. While spiders in general can be beneficial in the elimination of other pests, their bites should be avoided.

BED BUG CONTROL

As their name implies, bed bugs are often found in or around beds and bedrooms and signs of their presence are easy enough to identify. They are notoriously difficult to locate due to their skill at hiding, and made even more challenging by their fast maturity rate and longer life span. Identifying the origin and scope of an infestation requires more detailed inquiry.
