Officially incorporated into Pierce County in 1995, University Place is a suburb of Tacoma named after the University of Puget Sound. Predominantly a residential area, University Place has seen major growth and development over the last 10 years with construction of numerous new businesses and homes. As a result, University Place has developed into a thriving community, and become a much sought-after location for businesses and for residential homes.
However, as with any area that sees rapid expansion and development, University Place has its fair share of pest-related issues. University Place has seen an enormous amount of new commercial and residential construction since 2010. Construction often displaces local insect and rodent populations, putting them in direct contact with new homes and businesses.
