Spiders will often make their ways into homes and garages through cracks and unsealed doors in search of food and shelter. While most Spiders are not dangerous, their bites can be quite painful.
Rodents are the most common pest in the State of Washington. Their elusive and skittish nature also make them some of the most difficult pests to control and exclude. Rodents can quickly contaminate surfaces, air ducts, and food supplies and are known disease vectors. Their burrowing habits can also cause damage to walls, wires, cables, and pipes.
Ants are the most common insect pest in Western Washington and are a regular a concern for Silverdale residents. Ants are often attracted to excess moisture and regularly found in kitchens and bathrooms. Most Ant species such as the Odorous House Ants are more of a nuisance than anything else. Carpenter Ants, however, are wood-destroying organisms, and can cause major structural damage to a building.
